All treatment intervention is based on objective and subjective evaluations and assessments.

Behavioral Analysis

At State of Mind, behavior programs are customized for adults with developmental delays, mild mental retardation, autism, and behavioral or emotional problems based on an in-depth consultation/evaluation.


Thorough assessment and evaluation:

  • Development and implementation of customized behavior program for adults with all levels of delayed development

  • Provide individual and group therapy for mildly retarded individuals

  • Coordinate with the community and private psychiatrist to recommend psychotropic and/or behavioral medication initiation or reduction plans

  • Administer and interpret psychological tests and assessments to the delayed development population with clinical supervision

  • Complete monthly reports and reviews of the individual’s progress.

  • Substance Abuse Counseling

We are an Illinois DASA and Cook court approved treatment facility, offering substance abuse services such as:

  • Assessment screening

  • Determination of therapy options or referral if  necessary

  • Preliminary Assessment/Consultation

  • Diagnostic Assessment/Evaluation   

  • Driving Under the Influence Evaluation (DUI)   (Cook County approved DUI and Treatment Provider)

  • Risk Education Assessment

  • Level 0.5 Pre Treatment/Sub-Clinical

  • Level I Substance Abuse Treatment (REGULAR OUTPATIENT)

  • Level II Substance Abuse Treatment (INTENSIVE OUTAPIENT)

  • Mental Health Services

Additional Services include:

  • Individual Counseling/Therapy

  • Group Counseling

  • Psychological Evaluations

  • Administers standardized objective psychometric to determine intervention and treatment in the areas of  substance abuse, behavioral analysis, and psychological disorders and maladjustments.

  • Urine Drops, to detect the following: alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, crack, opioids and other dangerous / illegal substances. 

  • Parents and guardians, if you are concerned about your child, and suspect that they may have a substance abuse problem, the urine drop will put your mind at ease, or confirm your suspicion. Treatment is available, your child will be on their way to a drug / alcohol free life.
