Our behavioral services utilize a comprehensive, evidence-based framework through our active enrollment in the Illinois IMPACT system. We seamlessly blend conventional Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)—focusing on structured skill acquisition, environmental modifications, and measurable daily functions—with the advanced philosophy of B.F. Skinner’s Radical Behaviorism. This dual-lens approach allows us to deliver standard behavioral interventions while uniquely addressing private events (such as internal thoughts, feelings, and private emotional states) as valid, functional behaviors shaped by a person's environment. Through this empirical framework, we implement data-driven strategies including Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), targeted Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), and clinical skill development to reduce challenging behaviors and strengthen communication, social integration, and personal independence. All behavioral protocols are specifically optimized to align with the clinical requirements of the Illinois Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waiver programs.

Pursuant to 59 Illinois Administrative Code Rule 115 and the Division of Developmental Disabilities Medicaid Waiver program frameworks, Level One Behavior Intervention services are strictly provided as on-site, in-person implementation models and are not offered via telehealth or virtual formats. Additionally, State of Mind Mental Health/LaTanya McField does not provide initial diagnostic testing or clinical eligibility determinations under this specific service track. To qualify for enrollment under the Illinois Medicaid HCBS waiver system, prospective clients must enter our care with an existing, active qualifying diagnosis formally documented by a licensed medical provider or qualified credentialed professional. Our clinical role is to utilize that established baseline to build out and implement your specialized, data-driven behavioral strategies.
