Comprehensive Clinical & Mental Health Evaluations

Navigating mental health begins with an accurate, evidence-based understanding of an individual's emotional and behavioral baseline. Leveraging master's-level clinical psychology training alongside independent state licensing authority, we provide structured diagnostic evaluations to clarify mental health conditions and guide subsequent therapeutic paths.

● Clinical Intake & Diagnostic Appraisals: Structured mental status examinations and comprehensive clinical interviews utilizing independent LCPC diagnostic authority to evaluate, diagnose, and establish clinical treatment classifications for mental and emotional disorders.

● Dual-Diagnosis & Co-Occurring Screenings: Integrated clinical assessments utilizing an advanced, specialized CADC lens alongside independent LCPC diagnostic authority. This comprehensive screening evaluates individuals simultaneously navigating substance use dependencies alongside underlying mental health conditions and co-occurring emotional disorders.

● Evidence-Based Diagnostic Testing & Assessment Scales: Administration and clinical interpretation of standardized mental health assessment tools, symptom rating scales, and objective diagnostic inventories to accurately clarify clinical presentation, trace symptom severity, and map baseline psychological profiles.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of treatment philosophies do you practice?

Our primary focus is delivering standard, conventional Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to build practical daily skills, improve communication, and strengthen independence. At the same time, we enhance this traditional approach by looking at the whole person. We recognize that "private events"—like an individual's internal thoughts, feelings, and emotional states—are a valid part of their experience. Instead of ignoring these inner states, we look at how they connect to a person's environment, ensuring that these experiences are objectively defined so they remain observable and measurable. This balance allows us to provide structured, evidence-based behavioral strategies that respect both outward actions and inner emotional well-being.

Do you participate in the Illinois Medicaid Waiver program?

Yes. Our behavioral services are designed to align seamlessly with the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) Division of Developmental Disabilities Medicaid Waiver program frameworks. Utilizing our independent BCBA credentials within the Illinois IMPACT system, we provide authorized Level 1 Behavior Intervention services designed to integrate directly with a participant's active Personal Plan.

Do you accept private or commercial health insurance?

No. State of Mind/LaTanya McField exclusively accepts Illinois Medicaid waiver funding for Level One Behavior Intervention services. General clinical consultations, mental health screenings, and clinical diagnostic appraisal are provided strictly on a private-pay basis. We do not accept, participate with, or bill any private or commercial insurance networks.
